Where do we meet for sailing class?

Drop off is at the white tent in front of The Hook Up restaurant in Los Sueños Marina. Pick up is at the LFSC boat racks between the break water and fuel dock.

Is previous sailing experience required to participate?

No.

Do I need to bring my own life jacket?

No. Life jackets are supplied unless sailor already has his/her own personal Type 3 life jacket

What safety procedures are practiced?

Sailors must wear their life jackets when on dock and water at all times without exception. Sailors must wear proper sun protection and bring water and a light snack to prevent sunburns and dehydration. All classes other than one on one classes are taught by at least two instructors from a 16ft inflatable assist boat with a 60hp outboard engine. There is always at least one instructor present who has First Aid and CPR training. Instructors are equipped with a first aid kit, cell phones, a radio, as well as each child’s medical and contact information. At the first signs of lightning or stormy whether, sailors are brought back to the marina. All equipment is adequately maintained.

What can I do while my child attends sailing?

Los Sueños Resort and Marina offers an assortment of activities such as sport fishing, golf, spas, shopping and a variety of dining options not to mention beautiful grounds for strolling or for those interested in sketching or painting.
